The American Society of Civil Engineers is a nationwide organization with school branches across all 50 states. The American Society of Civil Engineers is a network of Civil Engineers that aids in furthering career development. We, as a club, will offer students with the ability to attend events with the New York Metropolitan area branch, in which they can collaborate with other students and professionals to network and grow within the field. In addition to regional events, we will have speakers talk about certain topics within the civil engineering sphere as well as workshops to insure the growth of students within City Tech. Lastly, ASCE has a Steel Bridge event in which schools from across the country compete to fabricate and build a bridge. Our goal as a school is to go to the national event for our Steel Bridge Team.

Our mission is to support the educational, emotional and career development of City Tech students by providing opportunities for skill development, counseling and referrals that address obstacles to success.

The Counseling Services Center provides free and confidential counseling to City Tech students in-person, by phone, and by video. Services include individual counseling for academic, career and personal challenges as well as crisis intervention. We also provide support groups, referrals to campus and community resources, workshops and faculty/staff consultation. We might not have all the answers, but we will listen to concerns, give answers when we have them, and direct students to help.

The Student Government Association is the representative body for students on all college policy issues. SGA strives to advocate on behalfof the students to administration, faculty, student organizations and the college community. As representatives for the students, we provide an opportunity for student's views to be expressed and heard. The body is comprised of seven executive officers and thirteen senators. The primary function of Student Government is to uphold our rights as students. We are responsible for allocating and managing the student activity fee and assisting all clubs and organizations.                    The SGA coordinates many extracurricular activities for the student body such as, community panel discussions, voter registration drives, cultural programs, club fairs, dances, and many other activities. Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities that help promote leadership development. Consider running for a position in the Student Government Association. Elections are heldannually to elect the students who will represent the student population to the college community, administration, faculty, and student organizations.
